Okiki is proud of its Yoruba heritage and the name of the Akehinde Candle comes from the meaning of the second-born twin, or ‘He Who Came After Me’. This relaxing woody scented candle is made using a luxurious blend of three premium oils which envelop spicy notes of cardamom and attar oud with a middle note of Tonka bean, cedarwood and Patchouli on a base of warm amber and vetiver. The aroma released from this candle is mystical and magical, and with a crackling wick that sounds like a fireplace popping on a cold winter’s night, you’ll be sure to drift into paradise.
Our candles weigh between 200g - 220g with an average of 60 hours burn time
When you light an Okiki candle, allow it to burn until the wax has melted all the way to the edge to prevent a tunnelling effect leaving hard wax around the jar. This also maximises the beautiful scent that is released as the wax melts.
We highly recommend that you trim the wick each time you light an Okiki candle to around half a centimetre, as this will allow the candle to burn brighter and can prevent the wick from becoming deformed. Of course, ensure that candles are kept out of reach of children and textiles!
